ROLE PURPOSE
|
The role holder is responsible to lead and manage the establishment of the strategic, operational, and technical decision-making processes required to ensure that IT services are aligned with the organization’s priorities and risk appetite.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
|
Strategic
- Contribute to the formulation of SGS’s Information Technology strategy.
- Ensure alignment of IT Governance Section’s efforts in implementing SGS’s Information Technology strategy
- Develop and monitor IT Governance policies and procedures in collaboration with the other IT sections and in line with the IT strategy.
- Monitor performance of the IT Governance Section against KPIs and objectives on a regular basis. Recommend improvements and efficiencies in line with SGS’s corporate priorities.
- Develop and monitor the annual budget of the IT Governance Section in collaboration with Finance.
Operational
- Work as the single point of contact for IT management for key elements such as enterprise IT policy governance, enterprise IT strategy, and IT risk acceptance.
- Manage risk-based audits of existed and planned technology projects and systems and Identifies areas of risk and evaluates adequacy and effectiveness of the client’s approach to risk in use of technology to mitigate and reduce risk exposure
- Oversee and measure the fulfilment of suppliers’ quality related contractual obligations. Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and challenge supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Control, update the distribution of technology quality standards and policies and advises on the application of technology quality and sustainability management techniques
- Ensure compliance of technology departments and systems with application governance framework, policies, and report on the compliance outputs from AGF review processes and audits.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to manage and implement technology quality assurance and AGF Knowledge, skills and experience
- Ensure visibility, escalation, and management of IT risks inherent in the delivery of technology services.
- Execute and mature the IT Governance program in line with heightened standards and mandates.
- Analyse, advise on performance against established risk tolerance and performance objectives.
- Develop and implement processes to assess and/or monitor the effectiveness of IT procedures to ensure adherence to standards and policies as appropriate.
- Develop frameworks and processes to ensure that IT activities support enterprise business objectives within their established risk tolerance.
- Conduct a gap analysis on new and emerging guidance and lead the IT organization in adoption.
- Work collaboratively with other corporate oversight functions to identify and implement consistent and effective approaches to risk governance and control-based activities.
- Maintain strong and effective working relationships with all areas of Risk Management.
- Maintain and update IT change management lifecycle.
People Management
- Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on SGS’s Performance Management System.
- Support in the development of workforce plans for the Information Technology Department and work with the Human Resources Function on succession planning for key positions in the IT Governance Section.
- Work with the Human Resources Function to provide employees within IT Governance Section with the required competencies through appropriate and blended learning.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Function for recruitment of talent within the IT Governance Section.

QUALIFICATIONS
|
Minimum Education Required
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required e.g., Computer Science or Management Information Systems
- MBA or Master's in a relevant field is a plus.
|

- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
